Blood Clot In Brain

Whenever one of the blood vessels in your body becomes damaged, it causes a sticky blood clot.
This is a normal response from your body as an attempt to seal the area where leakage occurs. This protects you from internal bleeding and even more damage. However, there are times when blood clots can actually cause damage; like when it's blocking your arteries. This can cause tissue damage because your organs are limited to obtaining adequate oxygen and blood.

Even though they're meant to protect some areas, the blood clots can often break away ad cause damage to other areas of the body. When this happens, you become more susceptible to heart attacks and strokes. Blood clots can occur anywhere; even in the brain. Medical professionals refer to a blood clot in brain as an ischemic stroke. This happens when there's bleeding between the skull and brain.
Now although the clot that forms afterwards is meant to protect the area, overtime it puts pressure on the brain tissue. One of the main causes of this is when a person experiences some type of trauma or injury to the head or neck. You can have a blood clot in arm, legs, heart and even lungs. Regardless of where it starts, it can break away and move to other areas of the body like the brain and cause you to have a stroke.
If you do have a blood clot in brain, some of the things that you can expect to experience include seizures, slow thinking, confusion, blindness, paralysis, depression, speaking problems, coordination problems and more. Once you start to experience these symptoms, you should see a doctor immediately. Luckily, there are a variety of treatment options for blood clots depending on where it is and the cause of it.
Steroids and aspirin have often been prescribed to dissolve blood clots. If the severity of theblood clot in brain is high, then a doctor may choose to perform certain surgeries in an attempt to get rid of it. It's imperative that you take all the necessary precautions to keep your blood clot from coming back. The reason is that they can cause serious issues such as tumors. It's also important to seek medical attention as soon as you suspect that you have one.
Getting medical attention immediately can keep it from causing any other problems and further damaging other organs in your body.
